per·me·able works

My relationship with glass has shifted focus, evolving into a 'glassy' perspective on materials and phenomena that carry glass-like tendencies or associations: Fragility. Optics. Transparency. Translucency. Gloss. Plasticity. All these characteristics (and many more) are affecting the questions I've been asking myself...and, in turn, affecting elements of my studio practice. In fact, new motivations are propelling some new work; work asking me to put a focused priority on glass aside and to think about my primary material of focus in a new way by engaging a glass-based perspective upon non-glass materials and processes.

per·me·able works is a collection of objects and installations that extend upon my interest in utilizing imagery and the written word within a sculptural context. But it's also a body of work that creates an interesting relationship between glass and paper...of these things as figurative membranes that bind, line, part or encapsulate content in accordance to each project. per·me·able works is an attempt to find, absorb and retain meaningful solutions to the questions that initiate my making...
